Prior to demolition works commencing, the contractor/client is required to organise the disconnection, isolation or termination of the electricity supply to the buildings to be demolished, ensuring the area of excavation is free from service cables.
This may include a permanent disconnection from the point of connection to the mains network, the termination of the supply at the site boundary in preparation for future development, re connection supply requirements or redirection of the supply to buildings under the new development scheme.
Often a TBS (temporary building supply) is a requirement to enable the powering of site offices, welfare units, tower cranes etc. throughout the demolition and construction phases.
